With Minicamp Over, Jets and Giants Exit Stage Right

" There's a strange silence over part of the land right now.

It is the silence of the NFL at rest. Well, not all the NFL but the two teams in the NFL that really make a difference in this part of the world.

The Jets and Giants both wrapped up their minicamps on Thursday, leaving nothing but lifting weights and time with the family on the schedule between now and the start of training camp in late July. If you went by the headquarters of either team right now, you might just find a Gone Fishing sign on the door with the theme from The Andy Griffith Show playing on a loop.

Okay, not really, but it does seem the unthinkable has arrived. A dead spot in the football schedule has come to pass.

Just thinking that probably ensured that Eli Manning will decide to give up the NFL to become a cast member on Saturday Night Live. Writing it probably means that Tim Tebow will do the same thing "
