The new top prize of $640 million was announced on the Mega Millions website around noon on Friday, jumping $100 million from Thursday.

The massive jackpot seems to have just about everyone daydreaming.
“I’d give away half and then the other half I’d buy a big house in the Hamptons right on the water and I’d buy a place in the Dakota so I can live near the famous people and then I’d get a Mercedez SUV,” said lottery hopeful Robert Jackson.
Lottery hopefuls have been flocking to Lindenhurst where three stores within a mile of each other have all sold winning tickets.
One of the stores, Maulik & Chandni stationary on Montauk Highway, is where 20 Costco employees won a $202 million Powerball jackpot last June.

Owner Mike Patel says it feels great to be known as the lucky store.
“I like it,” he said. “I have always been lucky in my life and I could bring that out to the store.”
