Fundraising Campaign
Fighting a multi-billion dollar corporation is difficult, to say the least. BUT IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE!
What is ultimately necessary is to hire a crack team of lawyers who can effectively fight NYRI's application to the Public Service Commission and fight the possibility of central New York becoming an electric transmission "corridor." And lawyers aren't cheap.
The various STOP NYRI coalitions have collectively secured agreements of support from legislators, municipalities, and others to help pay for lawyer fees associated with fighting NYRI.
But to most effectively spread the STOP NYRI message, we must also develop a grassroots fundraising campaign which can supplement these sources, and perhaps more importantly, show NYRI and the Public Service Commission that we can PUT OUR MONEY WHERE OUR MOUTH IS.
